Kathie McClure: an Atlanta attorney & mom, driving around the country in a purple bus to raise hell for affordable healthcare

Kathie McClure is founder of VoteHealthcare.org.  From their website: “Kathie’s son, Chris, has Type I Diabetes, and her daughter, Caitlin, has Epilepsy.  Kathie’s children face a lifetime of health insurance crises, unaffordable insurance premiums, medical expenses, and drug costs. Millions of Americans are faced with similar and worse predicaments.  Kathie believes that healthcare reform which serves the needs of individuals is possible if Americans get educated and speak up for reform.”

She has a blog, where she has been chronicling her two year ride around the country, preaching the word of affordable healthcare to people who want to educate themselves about the issue.  Her ride, a purple bus, earned her the nickname “the purple bus lady”.  She has been featured on CNN, writes on Huffington Post, and has a YouTube channel.  Alas, her ride’s transmission is broken.
